GOT LINUX MADNESS???
Join us at the Great Dane Fitchburg as we set our distro brackets. Will Ubuntu's fans in the stands be able to cheer them to victory? Will Fedora's fast paced development speed them past competitors? Will Slackware's senior leadership have what it takes to overcome their injury problems? With over 100 distros listed at DistroWatch, who will make the Final Four?
The only way to find out is to join us for LINUX MADNESS at the Great Dane in Fitchburg where there will be TVs to catch the Badger game (should they be playing).
Madison's First Ubuntu Hour
Setting in OpenOffice.org messed up? Scared you're going to mess up your partitions?Heard you could get a free operating system, but not sure where to start?
You've come to the right place!
Ubuntu Hours are a time when new users can come and ask questions without being afraid they will be made to feel stupid by experienced users. It's also a time when you won't feel crowded out by other discussions. It may not always be 1-on-1 support, but it will be close and might even be a better ratio!
--------------------------------------------------------
As for Ubuntu Hour instructors, in the words of Ubuntu Loco leader Anthony Hook:
'It’s a pretty laid-back event with little expectations. If nobody asks one week, maybe you’ll talk to 4 people the next week. It’s a good time to get some coffee, catch up on some work, or just browse the Internet. I’ll probably even take pictures of where I am each week.

VirtualBox – A Comprehensive Overview
VirtualBox is the exciting virtualization technology which lets you run multiple operating systems simultaneously on one computer. It's simple to use and allows you to avoid the hassles of partitioning and dual booting, or the quirks of compatibility layers like Wine. Now you can run a variety of operating systems (Linux, Windows, etc.) within you current Linux OS and seamlessly flip between them.
Brad Stone will give you a complete overview of VirtualBox and expose you to some of the advanced features.

Dinner and a Movie...and Linux!
Monthly MadLUG Social Meeting!
There's no planned movie and the event really has more to do with hanging out and eating than Linux. There will, of course, be plenty of people there to casually discuss technical topics. If you're a geek, you'll feel just at home as you do at the Web608 Geek Dinners. However, if you want to grab some friends to watch a movie and just hang out with MadLUGers for a bit beforehand, that will certainly work!
We'll be hanging out in the lounge/lobby where the food is casual and the sofas as comfy.
